Human Resources Department assists job seekers

Man conducting an employment interview

Human Resources staffers can provide information on local job openings, career guidance resources, retirement, federal employee health benefits and insurance programs, the Thrift Savings Plan, or VA pay rates.

Thursday, September 5, 2013

At the Phoenix VA Health Care System, more than 47% of the staff are military Veterans.  VA has made a commitment to hiring Veterans and you can apply while still serving on active duty status in the military.  Working at the Veterans Health Administration gives Veterans the opportunity to continue walking side by side with other Veterans who have served our nation.  The knowledge, skills and abilities obtained in the military can again be used and applied to meet the needs of Veteran patients.

The PVAHCS Human Resources staff is available from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.  The HR office is at 4001 N. 3rd Road, Suite 310, Phoenix, Arizona.  Experts are available to advise existing and potential staff on a wide range of personnel issues.  Ask one of our friendly Human Resources staffers about local job openings, career guidance resources, retirement, federal employee health benefits and insurance programs, the Thrift Savings Plan, or VA pay rates.  VA offers competitive pay for clinicians of all levels.  Human Resources staff will take the time to walk you through the many benefits of being a federal employee and plug you into a network of resources at the federal government’s disposal.

If you are interested in choosing a career that makes a difference, you can also go to the VA Careers web site at www.vacareers.va.gov.  To see information about Veterans Health Administration programs in specific health care or administrative fields you can view resources here.

The Phoenix VA Health Care System Human Resources Department’s mission is to assist management directly and effectively in the acquisition, development, utilization, and management of human resources.  Human resources management is conducted in keeping with the highest public trust, interest and public policy objectives and within the framework established by statutes, Executive orders, regulations and directives, and without discrimination for reason of race, religion, color, sex, national origin, age, non-disqualifying physical or mental disability, lawful political affiliation or any other irrelevant factors.
