The Phoenix VA Health Care System is continuing to grow even as many other VA health care systems are shrinking.

Many people love numbers for their ability to tell a story. They can convey the pure, unfiltered truth about an organization. They don’t lie and, when presented without an “angle,” they leave no room for misinterpretation.

The bottom line story from our numbers: We’re continuing to grow! In a time when many VA health care systems are shrinking, Veterans are still coming to the Phoenix area and seeking health care from the VA. With that growth comes our constant vigilance to ensure each Veteran we serve receives the care he or she has earned in a timely manner.

Many VA health care systems across the country release an annual report to give a snapshot of the events of the past year. With fiscal year 2017 ending just a couple months ago and our annual report nearing completion, the Phoenix VA Health Care System leadership provides a by-the-numbers preview of some of the information we’ve collected. Included also are numbers from the past for comparison, and some demographic information to help tell the story of our employee and Veteran populations.

Although there are many more numbers and stories from the past year at the Phoenix VA, we hope this sample will provide you some insight and get you ready for the soon-to-be-released annual report.
