Word Document Format
(Phoenix) VA's Nursing Home Care Unit had a great way to "kick" off the holidays on Monday, November 19 at 10 a.m. when the world- famous Radio City Rockettes visited valley veterans.
The Rockettes are in town for performances at Dodge Theatre November 23 to December 9, and offered to visit the veterans. The VA Nursing Home Care unit has veterans from World War II, Korea and Vietnam that fill their wards. There are currently 68 such veterans who call the VA Nursing Home Care Unit their home.
"We're delighted to have the Rockettes visiting our patients," say VA Nursing Home Recreation Therapists Julie Effron and Brenda Walker. "Visits from celebrities such as the Rockettes give the patients something to talk about for days to come. We're glad the Rockettes are taking the time to honor our nation's veterans during the holiday season."
The Salvation Army also accompanied the Rockettes and provide coffee and donuts.
