The annual VA Veterans Day Parade will run northbound from the Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center, beginning at Seventh Street and Montecito, just north of Indian School Road, in Phoenix. The parade will turn west on Camelback Road, and proceed to Central Avenue, then turn north to Bethany Home Road, where it will destage at North Phoenix Baptist Church.
The VA Veterans Day Parade starts at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 12, and will run until about 1 p.m. In its 11th year, the parade is one of the premier Veterans Day parades in the nation, with more than 200,000 people expected to attend.
The parade honors all veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces, who have served our country in war or peacetime. This year’s theme is “Hearts of Valor,” and will pay tribute to veterans who have been wounded by the enemy and have received the Purple Heart Medal. The event also features a special salute to veterans of the Vietnam War.
The parade will showcase 100 entries, including bands, marching units, color guards, equestrian and military dog groups, historic military vehicles and more.
