VA requests help in managing aircraft flyovers at parade
Attention All News Helicopter Crews:
We are planning a special flyover to kick off the Annual VA Veterans Day
Parade and are requesting your help in ensuring that local television helicopters do not block the path of this aircraft.
The Sentimental Journey, a B-17 Flying Fortress with the Commemorative Air Force from Falcon Field, will fly over the parade route at 11 a.m. to mark the start of this year’s event.
The parade route that needs to stay clear from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. is on Seventh Street from Montecito to Camelback; then West on Camelback to Central Avenue; and North on Central to Montebello. The Sentimental Journey will fly diagonally NW from Indian School to Bethany Home and then back on a SE diagonal.
We appreciate the support of local news stations in covering this fun and important day, and hope that all media helicopters will be aware of the flyer, so that the Sentimental Journey is able to perform its mission in honoring our veterans.
